Margot Robbie has returned to the Met Gala red carpet in—quelle surpriseChanel.

Robbie arrived at the 2026 Met Gala in a strapless gold lamé dress outfitted with a cascading train lined with flower petals. The entire endeavor took the Chanel atelier 761 hours to create and included 1,100 pieces of embroidery.

Somewhat fittingly, Robbie hasn’t attended the Met Gala since 2023’s “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” where she wore a chain-trimmed Chanel gown from Lagerfeld’s spring 1993 couture collection. Now, three years later, she is helping Matthieu Blazy make his Chanel debut at the 2026 Met Gala.

Robbie attended her first Met Gala in 2014—for “Charles James: Beyond Fashion”—in a sheer, highly embellished Prada dress. For her next appearance in 2016, for “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology,” the actor kept it sleek and minimal in a white strapless Calvin Klein gown with waist cutouts.
