With The Gilded Age already under her belt, Louisa Jacobson is tackling a new role at Vogue World 2025: Hollywood: Edward Scissorhands.

Ahead of Vogue’s Paramount Studios runway show that highlights the marriage between fashion and film, McQueen’s Seán McGirr reimagined Colleen Atwood’s 1990 costume for Johnny Depp. Anok Yai, for her part, walked the runway wearing a recreation of Depp’s costume, made for the occasion by Atwood.

“He was born from Canal Street and Orchard Street back in the day when there were jobbers selling all kinds of stuff,” Atwood told Vogue of the original look. “We really had the idea of this patched-together person strapped into a costume that was sort of bondage-meets-practicality, and slightly Victorian.”

McGirr, for his part, added his signature gothic glamour. Playing off of the original costume’s hardware and leather, McQueen created a black leather bodice outfitted with criss-crossing leather belts. Underneath, a more romantic interpretation: a high neck, reminiscent of the Victorian collars from fall 2025, black lace sleeves emerging from beneath the leather, tendrils hanging down to floor, and a gauzy, sheer black shirt.

Louisa Jacobson models one of several designer reinterpretations of famous movie costumes at Vogue World 2025: Hollywood. Keep your eyes peeled for the others.
