Lily Collins Channels Two Fashion Icons: Carrie Bradshaw and Fred Flintstone

Emily Cooper may have a standout wardrobe of her own, but Lily Collins is paying homage to her fashionable forebears.

Off-duty, the actor can be found in statement outerwear and tomboyish button-ups and trousers. But today, Collins continued promoting the forthcoming season of Emily In Paris, dressed in her character’s signature maximalism: a burnt orange silk giraffe print Roberto Cavalli coatdress, a pair of brown strappy Giuseppe Zanotti stilettos, and a purple sequined Fendi baguette.

While it’s certainly more Emily than Lily, we couldn’t help but notice some other famously stylish characters shining through—namely Fred Flintstone and Carrie Bradshaw. Collins’s Cavalli coat is right in the Flintstone patriarch’s wheelhouse (her turquoise belt even matches Fred’s tie!), while the bag was the very same one Carrie toted when she was mugged in season three of Sex and the City. Mercifully, she was able to add it back to her wardrobe by And Just Like That…

The actor is on a Fendi kick, it seems. Just last night, she stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in a black dress with sheer panelling from Karl Lagerfeld’s fall 1997 collection for the Italian house. Between her LBD and vibrant purple purse, Lily Collins is making a strong argument for a vintage Fendi renaissance.
