Lady Gaga Delivers a Feathered Fashion Fantasia at the 2026 Grammys

Let the mayhem begin: Lady Gaga has arrived at the 2026 Grammys.

Gaga, who is up for seven awards tonight, embraced her inner black swan on the red carpet at the Crypto.com Arena. Dressed the part of a high-fashion Odile, the singer wore a black feathered mermaid gown from Matières Fécales, complete with a sculptural, jutted hip; and a dramatic train of wispy black tulle. A trail of feathers crept up Gaga’s neck and cupped her chin, which created a nice contrast with her bleach blonde hair and eyebrows.

The appealingly eerie black feathered look proved enough to stand out on the red carpet; Gaga eschewed accessories—save, of course, for her engagement ring from fiancé Michael Polansky.

Gaga is famously no stranger to an outré red carpet look, be it a meat dress or car parts. While her style often follows the theme of her latest album, this witchy feathered dress is pure, distilled Lady Gaga. It’s fitting: her album Mayhem, which is up for album of the year, is a true return to form for the artist.

The feather motif continued inside. For her performance of “Abracadabra,” Gaga honored her friend Alexander McQueen, wearing look 36 from the late designer’s fall 2009 collection. Though she removed the woven eyeball headpiece when she took the stage to accept the Grammy for best dance pop recording, Gaga kept the red and black feathered, shoulder-padded top and hip-padded skirt.

From her custom Matières Fécales gown to her archival McQueen runway look, Lady Gaga offered up a feathered fashion fantasia at the 2026 Grammys.
