In preppy skirts and gothic lace, the actor has channeled her on-screen character at every turn.
It comes as no surprise that Jenna Ortega is emulating the on-trend wardrobe of her on-screen character, Wednesday Addams. The 20-year-old was cast as the gothic high-schooler in Netflix’s hit series about the Addams family—which landed on screens in November—and ever since, she’s dressed with the same spunky attitude as the protagonist.
The actor is in the running to win the trophy for the Best Television Actress in a Musical/Comedy Series at the Golden Globes—she is nominated alongside Quinta Brunson, Kaley Cuoco, Selena Gomez and Jean Smart—and ahead of her big night, she joined co-star Emma Myers, who plays her roommate, at a pre-awards season party.
Ortega channelled Addams in a preppy outfit by Thom Browne, comprising a miniskirt, a cropped white shirt, a black tie, grey socks and loafers. But rather than sporting Wednesday’s signature raven plaits, she wore her hair in a tousled long bob and added sunglasses to her look at intervals throughout the evening.
For other recent appearances, the actor plucked looks from the runways, including the black gown and veil that Vittoria Ceretti wore as a gothic bride at Versace’s spring/summer 2023 show. With a second season of Wednesday on the way, expect to see plenty more where that came from.
