In a Crop Top and Beaded Skirt, Hunter Schafer Brought ’90s Cool Girl Vibes to Vogue World 2026: Milano

When Hunter Schafer hit the Vogue World: Milano red carpet in a minimal-chic look, it could only be from one brand: Prada.

Wearing the storied Italian label is something of a given for the model and actor—she’s served as a brand ambassador since 2021, walking in its shows and modeling for its ads—but that isn’t to say she’s always in a hot-off-the-catwalk creation. The 27-year-old is as likely to dig through the archives and excavate buzzy pieces from runways past (a leather skirt suit from 2007, say, or a gold satin bra-and-skirt combo from 2009) as she is to opt for something more current.

However, for today’s Vogue World: Milano festivities, Schafer chose something from the forthcoming collection: a gauzy layered crop top and embellished skirt with a gathered waist. (It also happens to be right on cue for Prada’s spring 2027 collection, shown earlier today, which explored skirts in all their various forms.) And while it may be new, it has that timeless Prada ethos—minimalistic, slightly cerebral, and undeniably cool.

Last year, Schafer found herself in a very different position—walking the Vogue World: Hollywood catwalk in the Paramount Studios backlot. There, she sported Sandy Powell’s Elizabethan-style costume from the 1992 film Orlando, originally worn by actress Tilda Swinton. Quite a different vibe this time around—what a difference a year makes!
