Ariana Grande Brought Iridescent Glamour to the 2024 Met Gala

This year has been an exciting one for Ariana Grande: Her album, Eternal Sunshine, released in March, and she will also star as Glinda in the film adaptation of Wicked come November. Tonight, the superstar also continued her 2024 takeover by hitting the Met Gala red carpet in glorious style. The singer chose a custom Loewe look for the affair, designed by Jonathan Anderson.

On the famous Met steps, Grande wore Loewe’s bustier dress in mother of pearl, complete with a hand-pleated, multi-layered skirt in silk chiffon. Anderson and his atelier looked to “sensorial craft techniques”—drawing upon the beauty nature to inspire craftsmanship and textiles textile selection. (Grande’s skirt was designed to mimic the iridescence of the nacre mineral.)

This evening marked Grande’s second time attending the Met Gala. The last time Grande attended was in 2018, for the “Heavenly Bodies” theme. That year, the singer sported a custom Vera Wang gown that was screen-printed with imagery from Michelangelo’s “The Last Judgement.” Tonight, she went the more light, breezy route—and secured her spot as one of the night’s best dressed attendees.
