Anne Hathaway Finds the Golden Thread Between Boho and Ancient Greece

Fewer aesthetics have been so ascribed to the annals of pop culture history as boho chic. The crochet, the suede, the fringe; its patron saints Kate Moss and Sienna Miller.

Anne Hathaway is one such student of the style. Often, you’ll see her in billowing sundresses and straw hats, toting a raffia bag. But Hathaway—who recently announced her third pregnancy—is on the press circuit for her next film, The Odyssey, and she’s found a way to bring the boho to the late Bronze Age.

The actor stepped out for a photo call in London earlier today (July 5), alongside her director Christopher Nolan and co-stars Zendaya, Tom Holland, Samantha Morton, and Lupita Nyong’o. Hathaway, styled by Erin Walsh, wore a white mini-dress from Blumarine’s resort 2027 collection, a cascade of semi-sheer, billowing fabric and arpeggiating white ruffles that culminated in a delicate halterneck. On her feet, the boho element came more into focus: a pair of knee-high brown suede boots from Gianvito Rossi that bunched around the ankle. Jewelry, including earrings, rings, and a watch, was by Bulgari, with Trussardi sunglasses and a vintage Chanel handbag sourced from celebrity fave sourcer and vintage dealer Fashionphile.

Her hair, with its caramel brown front pieces, was styled long and voluminous by Orlando PitaHung Vanngo painted a warm brown eye, a creamy pink matte lip, and velvety skin.

Her co-stars have also been experimenting in dressing for the contemporary Greek goddess: Zendaya opted for a custom ivory Jacquemus gown and twisting attached headscarf, Samantha Morton wore a smoke-gray, draped Alexander McQueen dress, and Lupita N’yong’o opted for a white and black piped, scarf-skirt dress.

Hathaway has also been embracing the sensual and feminine side of maternity style: a gold velvet Lela Rose gown, a shirred red Ashlyn top and flowing La Ligne pants combo, and another peplumed, body-contouring red draped dress by Ashlyn again.

Expect more bump-caressing, mother-goddess fashions to come our way, care of Anne Hathaway, soon.
