Bea Millan-Windorski is the newly crowned Miss Universe Philippines. In a conversation with Vogue Philippines, her designer Anthony Ramirez, and stylist Perry Tabora share the story behind her look.

Miss Universe Philippines has seen women carry a piece of their hometowns before representing the country on a global stage. The 70th edition of Miss Universe Philippines was no different, as Bea Millan-Windorski took home the crown after walking in with her version of the “Elyucana” look.

For her evening gown, Windorski stepped out in a sun-warmed sand tone gown designed by Anthony Ramirez and styled by Perry Tabora. To reference La Union as the “Surfing Capital of the North,” bugle beads are placed to contour the silhouette, and the look is finished with teardrop crystals that fall like water droplets.

The vision started with a wet look in a tone close to Windorski’s skin, inspired by the girls of La Union. “We made sure every element carried the same feeling. Hair and makeup were kept fresh and slightly undone to give that ‘just out of the water’ glow. The styling was intentional but minimal, nothing overpowering,” says Perry Tabora. “There’s a sense of restraint in the choices, almost referencing the simplicity of early 2000s queens, where the focus was really on the woman rather than the extras. It was about creating a cohesive look where everything supports the mood without taking away from Bea or the gown.”

Windorski moved to the Philippines and settled in La Union to take part in community rebuilding and environmental work after relinquishing her Miss Earth USA 2024 title. “Bea was very involved from the start. We all shared the same vision, something that reflects La Union and her connection to it,” adds Tabora. Her roots trace back to the province, where her maternal grandparents originally came from before migrating to the United States. “It was a very collaborative process, with constant alignment, which made it easier to refine everything while keeping it true to her.”

Windorski will represent the Philippines at the 75th Miss Universe set to take place in November 2026 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
