At the Fall 2023 show, flawless skin was the main focus to tie together the show’s narrative.

Over the past few seasons, Parisian brand Coperni has taken position as a purveyor in fashion, paving the way for futuristic concepts and materials. The brand broke the internet during its Spring 2023 collection after spraying a dress onto Bella Hadid using a patented material called Fabrican. This season, for their Fall 2023 collection, the brand pulled yet another show-stopping move by having five Boston Dynamics robot dogs, each named Spot, appear as special guests.

According to creative directors and founders Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant, the use of the robot dogs was their modern take on Jean de la Fontaine’s The Wolf and The Lamb. Rather than a wolf and the lamb, the pair reinterpreted the dynamic to feature robots and humans.

In a press statement, the designers said they wanted to “create a positive vision of the future where humans and technology can coexist in harmony.”

The models strutted down the catwalk in draped pieces with fabrics held in place with metallic pinching hands, cut-off leather dresses, and large coats akin to swathed warm blankets. What stood out as a counterbalance to the rugged looks were the model’s beauty looks. Soft, seamless skin enhanced by a light smoked charcoal or brown around the eyes.

The secret to the glowing look? For those looking to recreate it, Coperni’s lead makeup artist Fara Homidi says that the essential product is La Mer’s newly released Moisturizing Soft Cream; a product of Max Huber Research Labs. “The natural and youthful quality of the skin is the main focus, as everyone needs to look effortless,” Homidi says.

Clyde Johnson, the head of Skincare Artistry at La Mer, explains that to achieve that youthful, soft-focus look, a generous amount was applied to each of the model’s faces, along with just two pumps of their Hydrating Illuminator.
