If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. At least, that’s what the vibe was for Olivia Rodrigo‘s classic glam at tonight’s 2025 Grammy Awards.

“It is always an honor to go to the Grammy’s, and I had the best time getting ready with my team,” Rodrigo tells Vogue. “For makeup, I always try to have a little fun while staying true to myself.”

When it comes to glam, the singer (who was announced as the new face of Lancôme late last year), has a tried-and-true formula that she loves. It includes a sharp cat eye, fresh skin, and a creamy lip.

“We wanted to channel that effortless 90s cool-girl energy,” makeup artist Melissa Hernandez tells Vogue exclusively about the inspiration. “Minimal, polished, but with an understated edge.” The beauty look paired perfectly with her vintage Versace dress. To get the look, Hernandez started with a spritz of Lancôme’s Fix It and Forget It. “To lock in your makeup, add a spritz of setting spray before and after foundation,” she shares.

“Of course, Olivia’s signature cat eye had to make an appearance—I used Idole Liner to create that sharp, precise flick, while a little liner in the inner corners added just the right amount of edge,” Hernandez says. For those who want to recreate the cat eye look at home, it’s easier than you’d think: “The key to a sharp cat eye is mapping it out while looking straight into a mirror. A lot of people tend to pull or stretch their skin to get a clean line, but once they let go, the shape can end up looking distorted. Keeping your eyes open while mapping it out helps you get the perfect shape right from the start.” Micellar water and a flat makeup brush are always helpful when it comes to cleanup, too.

The final step in the look was L’Absolu Rouge in 215 First Kiss. “It’s a soft, rosy shade that enhances the natural lip tone,” Hernandez says. “It tied everything together, keeping the look effortlessly chic.”
