The Hermès Beauty Autumn-Winter 2026 collection draws inspiration from the light of the Scandinavian Far North, capturing the warmth of its colorful houses against a backdrop of frozen landscapes.
In the 19th and early 20th centuries, some Nordic painters turned away from classical Southern European styles and focused instead on the beauty of their home regions, as seen in the works of artists such as Peder Balke and Harald Sohlberg. No one could blame them, given what awaited outside: the dramatic landscapes of Arctic wilderness, snow-capped mountains, and vast tundra plains, illuminated by glowing auroras in winter and the midnight sun in summer.
This imagery has also inspired Hermès Beauty, which has long drawn on nature for its collections. For its Autumn-Winter 2026 Beauty collection, the house takes inspiration from the deep cold and icy landscapes of the Scandinavian Far North. Designed by Pierre Hardy, creator of Hermès Beauty objects, the collection’s color palette draws from the vibrant shades of blue, red, pink, yellow, and green houses that stand out against the stark backdrop of a frozen landscape.
“I wanted to explore different finishes, from the most transparent to the most velvety, driven by the desire to create a lipstick for every moment, like echoes of sensations,” said Gregoris Pyrpylis, creative directorCreative DirectorThe person who sets the overall visual vision of a fashion house, publication, or campaign and guides designers, photographers, and stylists toward it. The limited-edition collection includes a rosy lip enhancer and two lipsticks, one matte and the other satin. The 38 Rouge Airelle lip shine enhancer features a sheer, fruity red pigment with subtle hints of pink, inspired by the look of a freshly picked berry to create a “bitten lip” effect. Blending white mulberry extract with sesame and raspberry seed oils, it aims to combine makeup and skincare in one product.
Meanwhile, the two lipsticks offer contrasting finishes. The 83 Rouge Scandinave matte lipstick features concentrated pigments in a Nordic red inspired by the traditional color palette of Scandinavia’s warm, wooden houses, resulting in a velvety, powdery finish. The 21 Rouge Épicé satin lipstick, on the other hand, is a pink shade with hints of terracotta, formulated with white mulberry extract and amino acids.
Completing the collection are two enamel shades from the permanent Les Mains Hermès collection, dedicated to the nails: 06 Rose Baltique and 85 Rouge H.
