If the Italian bob didn’t entice you back when it first started trending last year, maybe it will seduce you this time around. It’s seeing a surge in popularity right now: in the past 30 days, Google searches for “Italian bob with bangs” have rocketed by 550 per cent, and it’s a similar story over on TikTok, where the term has racked up 412.7 million views and counting. But what, exactly, is the Italian bob?
According to Luke Hersheson, it is a gamine cut “characterised by its chim-skimming length” and rounded, face-framing edges – it features lots of volume at the roots, looks fantastic when worn in a side parting and is full of movement, body and natural texture. This one shouldn’t look too polished; rather, it works best when air-dried and styled with your hands.
