To hear her tell it, the relationship goes even further back. “My first Chanel memory is my grandma using Chanel N°5 perfume,” Rubin said. “I always thought she was so glamorous. She is so excited that I am attending the Chanel show.”
Ahead of her outing at the Grand Palais, Rubin began her beauty routine with skin prep – the key to a fresh-looking complexion, according to make-up artist Jen Tioseco. “I spent time massaging the Sublimage skincare into Ella’s skin to create that hydrated, supple base before going in with Water-Fresh Tint,” she said. “The goal is never to cover beautiful skin; it’s to enhance it.”
From there, the brief was classic French-girl glam, which included a smudge of the New Smoky eye palette and brown Stylo Yeux liner on Rubin’s upper and lower lash line. “We intentionally stayed away from anything too precise or any hard lines,” Tioseco explained of her application technique, noting that Rubin wanted the look to match her “elevated but playful” cropped knit and A-line skirt. “That allowed the make-up to feel relaxed and modern while creating a beautiful balance with the fashion,” Tioseco added.
For Rubin, it’s all been a dream. “I’m excited to be wearing an outfit that I love,” she said. “And witnessing so much beauty in this collection and space, and meeting lovely, kind and creative people. I feel so lucky!”
Next up? The Manhattan native is ready for the cooler weather. “In the fall, I love getting to wear my favourite sweaters!”
