While the world kept watch on the beauty trend forecast on New York Fashion Week’s Spring/Summer 2023 runways, the stylish attendees proved that right now, it’s all about the statement eye.
Grammy Award-winning singer Doja Cat sported a series of bold eye makeup looks this season, accentuated by bleached eyebrows, while veteran model Coco Rocha painted swan-like shadow over her lids at Vogue World, the 130th-anniversary celebration of the American institution. Other show-goers were just as bold, with breakout singer Yungblud in heavily-lined eyes at the Tommy Hilfiger show, while model Quannah Chasinghorse donned her own iteration of green eyeliner.

Doja Cat at Bronx & Bonco
Doja Cat has been making waves in the entertainment scene with her Grammy-winning music, but her influence is felt across the fashion and beauty spheres too. The “Woman” singer attended the Bronx & Banco show in a strappy powder blue dress and edgy accessories including a few septum statement-makers. To match her dress, she opted for geometric accents—light blue circles painted across her pencil-thin Greta Garbo eyebrows. She kept her eyelids a lot more toned down, save for strong cat-eye liner.
Yungblud at Tommy Hilfiger
Breakout music star Yungblud tied off his dyed-red tips with a heavy smudge of black around his eyes at the Tommy Hilfiger show. The English alternative rocker gave new life to the emo-era eyeliner with his fashion week look.
Adwoa Aboah at Fendi
In a nod to Y2K fashion, model and women’s advocate Adwoa Aboah bared her abs at Fendi, accentuating her easy boot-cut jeans and satin accessories with a thick reverse cat eye. The trend, which went viral on TikTok, glammed up her otherwise dressed-down look. She kept the rest of her makeup look natural to accentuate her bold black liner.
Coco Rocha at Vogue World
At Vogue World, a street fair-slash-fashion show, the high-fashion muse paired a sweep of navy blue eye shadow with a sculptural white dress reminiscent of painted ballerinas dancing in Swan Lake. Her look stood out in a sea of other celebrities who were in attendance including Sabrina Carpenter, Dove Cameron, and Laura Harrier.
Quannah Chasinghorse at the Coach After-Party
Activist-turned-model Quannah Chasinghorse attended the Coach after-party matching her forest green eyeliner to her beaded choker. The fourth-generation land protector, known for her Yidiiltoo face tattoos, got her big break on a Calvin Klein campaign and has since been paving the way for indigenous representation in fashion.
