Photographed by Kim Santos

From October 26 to 28, Vogue Talks will center on ancestral and artistic intelligence and its expressions across design, wellness, storytelling, and more.

As an extension of Vogue Philippines’ fourth anniversary issue, this year’s edition of Vogue Talks will explore the ways of being that we have returned to for generations, and the ways we reimagine them across Filipino culture today.

Over three days, Vogue Philippines editors will join industry veterans and contemporary artists to discuss what it means to live and create with intention, imagination, and human intuition. Vogue Talks will be held on the first floor of F.A.B. Creatives, the last house in the 2680 Compound on F.B. Harrison Street, Pasay City, and is open to guests with Premium Access on a first-come, first-seated basis.

Below, read about each of the talks at Vogue Threads Manila and when they’re happening.

The Making of the Anniversary Issue

Why does the human element of a story matter? Learn about the collaboration behind Olivia Rodrigo’s cover by Szilveszter Makó and the collective vision that binds the issue’s pages.

Threads of Tradition: The Art and Life of Patis Tesoro

Day 1: October 26 at 3:30 PM

In a sit-down with veteran designer Lulu Tan Gan, National Artist for Design Maria Beatriz “Patis” Tesoro traces her legacy in Filipiniana fashion and her decades-long advocacy for promoting Philippine textiles. The pioneer figure will speak on why traditional craftsmanship is necessary, how embellishments capture our cultural identity, and what it takes for the craft to endure and be passed on to future generations.

Capitalizing the Craft: How Creatives Can Scale Their Business

Day 2: October 27 at 2:00 PM

Just as a wearer completes an outfit, every designer needs a market. In this talk, moderated by Vogue Philippines beauty and wellness editor Joyce Oreña, designers Vania Romoff and Hindy Weber join investment strategist Chrissi Morillo to talk about how to build a thriving creative practice. The conversation will move from honing your brand’s artistic vision to developing your own business strategy for sustainable growth.

Past, Present, Precious: Filipino Heritage and Contemporary Jewelry

Day 2: October 27 at 3:30 PM

Jewelry is known to make a statement, but what exactly shapes what it has to say? Three Filipino jewelers weigh in by exploring their relationships with local heritage, from the metals of Baguio to the talismans of Quiapo. Moderated by designer Candy Dizon, the talk follows wearable art designer Michelline Syjuco, Caro Wilson founder Mark Wilson, and jewelry artist Allan Matudio as they discuss meaning and material, inspiration and innovation.

Prompting the Past, Archiving the Present: AI in the Age of Disinformation

Day 2: October 27 at 5:00 PM

Earlier this year, author and historian Ambeth Ocampo spoke about his research process and archiving efforts for Vogue Philippines’ In The Studio, emphasizing the importance of primary sources and the ability to humanize them through humor, making history accessible to a wider audience. For his solo presentation at Vogue Talks, the eminent academic tackles AI technology and our renewed roles as scholars, journalists, and storytellers, now that information, ever shaped by human perspectives, may not come from a person at all.

The Art of Longevity: Aging Beautifully, Living Well, and Thriving at Every Age

Day 3: October 28 at 2:00 PM

Health is more than skin deep, and yet what’s visible on the surface can teach us valuable lessons about our bodies and how we navigate the long-term. In this talk, Vogue Philippines beauty and wellness editor Joyce Oreña sits down with wellness lifestyle chef Cinty Yniguez, beauty entrepreneur Nikki Tang, and aesthetic physician Dr. Iris Templora to discuss the beliefs, habits, and mindsets that affirm our purpose and support a fulfilling life.

Personal Style in the Age of Social Media

Day 3: October 28 at 3:30 PM

From the popular adage “you are what you wear,” this talk questions and explores the sources that influence our style, from our local environment to our social media algorithm, while reminding us of the myriad ways that we make our own point-of-view. Vogue Philippines head of digital content Cheche V. Moral joins deputy editor Pam Quiñones and content creator Marj Maroket to cover fashion trends, self-expression, and styling ingenuity.

Intelligence, Agency, and the Future

Day 3: October 27 at 5:00 PM

What makes a story resonate in our media-saturated world, and why do we still keep creating? In this conversation, moderated by cultural worker Jorell Legaspi, together with art curator and critic Marian Pastor Roces and new media artist Tad Ermitaño, we look at embodied forms of intelligence and how alternative paths forward emerge through experimentation, immersion, and tough imagination, where being playful and alert can form the difference between a future that is authored rather than generated.
