Connor Storrie Officially Debuts His Buzzcut at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmys

Connor Storrie just made his dramatic new haircut red carpet official. The Heated Rivalry star arrived to the 2026 Creative Arts Emmys arm-in-arm with his mom, sporting a buzzcut.

The actor wore a louche charcoal-gray suit with embellished buttons over an unbuttoned silky blue shirt from the Saint Laurent spring 2027 collection (he is a house ambassador, of course), letting his newly bare head and big grin do much of the talking. His date? His mother, Linda Storrie, who joined him on the carpet in a sparkling gold gown, her own hair in soft, side-swept waves.

Paparazzi photos of Storrie dining with his hockey romance co-star Christina Chang in Toronto last month first revealed that he had shorn his signature curls off, meaning his character Ilya Rozanov could be sporting a very different look in Heated Rivalry’s second season. Is losing that mop of blonde curls part of Ilya’s character arc? Or is it for another role? Will Connor Storrie wear a wig? Lots of questions for the H.R hive, already.

“I’m ready to cut this stuff off if y’all want me to be completely honest,” he previously said of his curls in an interview with Teen Vogue. “I’m ready to shave my head. I don’t know who’s out there, but someone hire me and give me a crazy haircut.”

Speaking also to Vogue, Storrie made his plans even clearer: “Just wait until we do something, and until we cut it all off. I want to.”

It was Storrie’s first appearance at the Emmys, a first-time nominee for his performance as a host on Saturday Night Live! back in February. (The award ultimately went posthumously to Rob Reiner for The Bear.)

Much of Storrie’s heartthrob status has been closely bound up in that tousled blond silhouette (that natural charm, beaming smile, and marble-like bone structure might have something to do with it too), but there’s something thrilling about seeing him skate off in the other direction of what’s been expected of him beauty-wise, taking up the clippers as his career enters its next phase.

He’s got a slate of high-profile movies and television projects coming up: sci-fi post-Soviet thriller April X, Molly Gordon’s A24 high school reunion comedy Peaked, and period film Please alongside Gracie Abrams and Tom Burke. Now we know, Connor Storrie is a man of his work, and he isn’t afraid to totally transform himself for the right role.
