In this holiday edit, the content creator and dancer walks us through how she chooses gifts for the people she loves with Onitsuka Tiger
For Niana Guerrero, holiday gifting starts with movement. Before she even arrives at Onitsuka Tiger for a day of shopping with Vogue Philippines, she’s already thinking in full ensembles: imagining her friend walking through a café or her brother dancing to their next TikTok video.
Instead of browsing for single items, she builds around how each person moves. “When choosing gifts, I always go with what their vibe is first, then a close second is how they move through their days,” she says. In true Niana fashion, she tries on each look herself as a test run, making sure everything moves, fits, and feels right.
“I’m the type of person that resonates with how pieces look at first,” she shares, noting how her eyes go straight to silhouettes that speak to her. The challenge, she says, is narrowing down her picks. “In Onitsuka Tiger, it’s easy to be tempted to grab everything, but there are always pieces that stand out more for me. It’s a mix of gut feel, vibes, and then of course, if [it] could be worn over and over again, then we’re getting them!”
For their creative friend
First on her list is a friend who’s always embraced her creative side: a black base punctuated by a strong pop of color. “She wants something comfortable yet still a little quirky, something she can wear from a day of shooting to a catch-up dinner later in the evening,” she explains.
Guerrero steps into a bubble skirt, layers a red top over a polo of the same shade, and grounds the outfit with a pair of red socks and the Onitsuka Tiger MEXICO 66 in BLACK/GUNMETAL.
For her brother who’s always on-the-go
For her brother’s ensemble, Guerrero shifts toward structure and neutrals, pieces he can wear from morning to night. She tries on beige pants, layers a jacket on top, and completes the look with the Onitsuka Tiger MEXICO 66. “For my brother, I want something he’ll actually use every day,” she says, checking her silhouette in front of the mirror.
“He’s simple. Clean lines, neutral colors, nothing too loud,” she notes. “The sneakers are sleek enough for work, cool enough for a stroll in the mall.” Studying the outfit, she concludes, “It’s a look he won’t overthink. He’ll just wear it and wear it well.”
For herself
For her own ensemble, Niana gravitates toward comfort and ease, pieces she can move, dance, and travel in. “For my favorite part: gifting myself,” she laughs. “If there’s one person you should never forget to dress well for, it’s you.”
She pulls on a pair of black pants and slips in the Onitsuka Tiger MEXICO 66 TGRS in BLACK/GUNMETAL, adding a playful touch with bright red socks she also got for her brother. A long-sleeved striped shirt anchors the look, while another shirt in the same style is tied casually around her waist and adds a furry black beanie. “I like to be comfy all the time. So, I go for something a bit loose. Kind of like my brother’s but with my own twist.”
