Noisegarage! Take 1: Pink Inauguration
On August 1, Kinoise invites cinephiles and queer people to the Pink Inauguration, a late Pride month screening featuring subversive queer cinema. The screening includes the Inauguration of the Pleasure Dome (1954), Oliver (1983), RAMPAGE! (o ang parada) (2024), and Pink Flamingos (1972). The Strict Rules of Polite Society: Pop & Play Pop Up Shop
In Cubao Expo, the month begins with a pop-up shop at The Garapata Store. From August 1 to 2, peruse the stacks of records, books, archival magazines, and all things “indiepop” from sellers Liquid Software, Chick Magnet, Odile TV, Khis Minty, and Bonnapart. The pop-up shop will also have music sets by Liquid Software, Happy Tears, DMaps, and more.
Merkado Market Presents: Luna y Sol
In the Philippines, August is also known as “Buwan ng Wika” or National Language Month. Merkado Market joins in on the festivities, with a weekend market full of local clothes, accessories, food, drinks, and more on August 2 and 3, at Frabelle Corporate Plaza in Makati. Palm Sundays: Dungeons & Dragons

Full Spectrum Masterclass
The Full Spectrum Masterclass is back for its second year, and this time, they’re partnering with BLK Cosmetics and Happy Skin. On August 6 and 7, makeup artists Jelly Eugenio, Mark Qua, and Anthea Bueno will teach masterclasses on perfecting personal makeup and pro makeup artist techniques. Komiket by the Bay

PETA’s Walang Aray Pinoy Musical
PETA’s award-winning Pinoy musical, Walang Aray, returns this year on August 29. The cast features both new and returning cast members: reprising their roles are Gio Gahol, Jon Abella, Shaira Opsimar, and Marynor Madamesila, while Lance Reblando, Jolina Magdangal, and Ice Seguerra make their debut.
