Katie Holmes Proves A Black Slip Is Always The Right Choice

Day to day, Katie Holmes lives in baggy jeans and cosy knits, but night time is when her style really comes into its own. Channelling the spirit of slip dress fanatic Kate Moss, she attended a Bulgari event in an LBD by Khaite with skinny spaghetti straps and a low-cut neckline.
To make the slip truly her own, she styled it with pointy leather knee-high boots – which brought an autumnal touch – a pendant necklace and a gold Bulgari watch. As ever, she kept her make-up minimal and let her skin glow, while styling her hair in easy tousled waves.
Take it from Katie: a slip dress is a great option for any dress code. Black styles are particularly versatile and can be styled differently to suit the occasion. “Everyone should have a long black slip dress in their wardrobe, it’s a winner for practically any event, any time of the year,” says Vogue’s global network lead and European deputy editor, Sarah Harris.
