From a swatch of neutrals to vibrant colors, guests at the launch of Longchamp’s Le Roseau get a preview of the bag’s style mileage

In the 90s, the Longchamp Le Roseau came in a boxy tote or a trapezoidal handbag with hints of a sporty look. Its popularity in the era lent itself to many styles, colors, and finishes from crocodile leather to patent to soft, supple calfskin. One quick way to know if someone was carrying the era-defining bag for the French fashion brand was its bamboo clasp that hangs just above the Turenne Chevallereau-designed logo.

In time for Fall-Winter 2024, the Le Roseau (French for reed) gets a contemporary update with a feminine silhouette made with versatility in mind. The newest iteration comes in a softer form of bucket bags, hobo bags, handbags, and phone cases in grained leather. Its emblematic bamboo hardware gets a larger and shinier version with a loop that can snuggly fasten the bag.

To celebrate its relaunch, Longchamp invited guests to the newly revamped Rustan’s Shangri-la Store. In a series of activities within the boutique, guests such as content creators Verniece Enciso, Kelly Misa, Candice Dela Cruz, Vanna Garcia, Mica Arevalo, and stylist Cath Sobrevega experienced a taste of the French lifestyle with the store’s sporty aesthetic, including a vibrant green track and wall panels, accented by wood and silver fitness accessories.

The 2024 update of the Le Roseau comes in a roster of vibrant hues such as celadon, orange, neon green, and chestnut. If you’re into classic colors, the bags also come in black and neutrals. Each style from the collection are made with on-the-go women in mind with laptops fitting the bigger version to compact sizes made for dinner parties or quick shopping errands.
