In Quezon City, The Grand Hausse recently launched its multifaceted retail space with a speciality shop and café that promises an experience of merging fashion with a curated menu

In the busy corner of Quezon Avenue, roses adorn the balcony of the building against a crisp white wall accented with light gray-blue and gold trims around the windows and the brand’s name.

Entering The Grand Hausse, you are greeted by glossy checkered tiles reminiscent of French country houses. Shades of crimson red become more pronounced inside, harmonizing with the blue and olive accents that flow throughout the retail space. Walking through the space, you’ll discover an array of fashion items, homeware, and jewelry artfully arranged. Mannequins pepper the room, a nod to the brand’s origin story.

“Initially, The Grand Hausse was intended to be a furniture shop,” shares founder Micah Sy at the event launch of her boutique-slash-restaurant. “However, an unexpected twist of fate occurred when a misordered mannequin appeared on my doorstep instead of the home accessories I ordered. I knew deep in my heart that this was a calling, a sign to pursue my deepest desire, my passion, which is fashion.”

An approach to shopping by intentions

Sy’s vision for her boutique extends beyond clothing, a contrast to her other role as CEO of a generator supplier company. One of the standout features of The Grand Hausse is its “shop by intentions” concept. Collections are categorized using positive affirmations such as “I am love,” “I am abundant,” and “I am joyful.”

Of the retail concept, Sy explains that it was born from her belief that fashion is more than just clothing—they are an expression of energy and self-empowerment. “These affirmations serve as a powerful tool, helping individuals connect with energy they want to embody in their lives. It’s about engaging with clothing that aligns with their personal growth and aspirations.”

In “I am love,” the clothing collection offers pieces that celebrate love with vibrant colors like neon green, fuchsia, and reds, transitioning to larger floral prints and patterns; while “I am protected” promotes feelings of protection with poncho jackets, co-ords, and bomber jacket-cargo pants combos. Other collections reflect prosperity with yellow and shiny materials for  “I am abundant” and “I am peace” are curated with flowy dresses and ruffles in calming shades of turquoise, pastel green, and peaches.

A restaurant inspired by European sensibilities

To punctuate the boutique experience, the European sensibilities peak with a red-dominated, warm interior that’s visually soothing. The walls feature modern takes on renowned artworks like “The Girl with the Pearl Earring” and portraits of painters such as Van Gogh.

The menu, as Sy fondly calls “fashion on a plate,” is a fusion of European and Filipino cuisines, offering dishes like Tartare Du Soleil and Designer Pasta: Cosmic Pistachio Carbonara. Naturally colored using vegetables and fruits, everything from Beetroot-cured Smoked Salmon to Pistachio Cheesecake is crafted in-house.

“Our goal is to uplift the spirit and provide a unique, transformative experience that resonates deeply with our guests,” says Sy. “The Grand Hausse offers an experience where creativity, passion, and positive energy come together. It’s about more than just food; it’s a realm of art and beauty.”
