Beyond just an evening of bringing together over 300 creatives, the event signals the launch of new platforms for storytelling across the magazine’s media platforms
Speaking to the audience, Marga Herbosa, brand manager of Vogue Philippines, reflects on the value of video as a storytelling medium at the launch of its media channels platform called Vogue Studios. “Video has an incredible ability to immerse us, to draw us into a moment, a narrative, or even an emotion,” says Herbosa. “A messy studio in the background, a subtle smile as an artist tells her story, the movement of a model as she transitions between poses, these nuances come alive in video, adding layers of depth and complexity that static images simply can’t capture.”
Held at Studio Red of the Shooting Gallery in Makati, everything was all about the power of video. Guests, Jericho Rosales, Dia Maté, Jason Dhakal, and Shaira Luna, entered through an LED tunnel by Royd Santiago, with abstract visuals representing stages of the creative process. In the main hall, a suspended mesh LED video wall by Kendrick Cay served as a focal point, complemented by DJ sets and conversation areas. The production, led by Jan Pineda, brought together over 150 collaborators.
“This is our lab for trying new ways to reach new people, new screens, new voices, and new ways to stay connected,” says media channels editor Anz Hizon.
The 600-sqm space housed a series of experiences that were designed to inspire creativity among its attendees. At Samsung’s Capture Stations, guests were encouraged to produce their own portraits using the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7’s ProVisial Engine-enhanced low-light photo and video features along the co-branded convex mirrors.
Draped in translucent fabric and lit by their signature colors, IQOS’ Pioneers’ Lounge created an immersive photo wall that interpolated the brand’s iconography through moving graphics, all while ZYN’s mobile bar encouraged guests to create their own gin and tonics or whiskey highballs.
Inside the TikTok Room, Vaseline Philippines highlighted the power of self-confidence through skin and fashion with portraits captured by photographer Aniken Cruz. The space also featured videos of selected Vogue Faces talents: Paolo Arboleda, Nicole Heradura, Giancarla Dimalanta, Jasmine Moawad, and Carylle Salvador. Food by K. by Cunanan features small plates, including inasal nigiri and fried mantou, served alongside dishes in collaboration with Aveeno and Neutrogena.
Entertainment featured the A-Team dance crew, moving around a pixel LED Cube, and DJ sets from Lui Pimentel, Christal Chung and Gabby Agbayani, and Sean Bautista.
New Balance Ambassadors Fern Tan, Sam Lee, Jigs Mayuga, and Jeline Catt were also seen wearing their favored trainers while also sharing a few words on how they embodied their individuality as creatives. Among them, Lee shares, “It’s hard to name just one instance because I think that as a queer person, embodying your individuality is a continuous process. It’s the way you go through the world that makes you unique.”
“I think how we approach capturing shared moments of creativity and individuality is that we build community through spotlighting people, not trends. It’s through that point of view that the story then comes from a place of discovery and a place of intention,”
says Hizon.
