Honoring the diversity of Filipino music, the Filipino Music Awards announces the nominees for its first Genre Awards.
On October 21, Filipino musicians and industry leaders will gather for the inaugural Filipino Music Awards (FMA) at SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. A celebration of new and familiar voices in Filipino music, 20 awards will be presented across 5 categories: the Genre Awards, the Grand Awards, the Legacy Awards, the People’s Choice Awards, and the Special Awards.
Weeks ahead of the ceremony, FMA announces the list of nominees for its first Genre Awards. The category is dedicated to recognizing songs pushing sonic boundaries, redefining genres, and driving musical innovations. It spotlights six honors that show the diversity of Original Pilipino Music (OPM): Alternative Song of the Year, Folk Song of the Year, Hip-Hop Song of the Year, Pop Song of the Year, and Rock Song of the Year.
