After a Hiatus, Blackpink Releases Their Mini-Album Deadline

Concluding a six-month globally sold-out tour, Blackpink returns with the mini-album Deadline.

The waves of the pink ocean continue to resonate in 2026 following the recently concluded Blackpink tour. When the quartet mounted their Deadline tour in 2025, the response was palpable: 33 sold-out shows across Asia, North America, and Europe, marking a milestone as the first K-pop girl group to complete a fully sold-out global stadium tour.

The tour ran for six months, opening in Goyang, South Korea, on July 5, 2025, and closing in Hong Kong on January 26, 2026. It marked both a culmination and a reset. A month later, the group releases their mini-album Deadline, which sets the tone for a pivotal year as the group approaches its 10th anniversary on August 8, 2026. Released on February 27, Deadline contains five tracks, including “Jump,” which served as the lead single, along with “Go,” “Me and My,” “Champion,” and “Fxxxboy.”

“Even amid the intense schedule of a large-scale world tour, the members devoted significant time and effort to perfecting this album. We are confident it is a body of work that encapsulates both the individual musical capabilities of the four members and their synergy as a team,” said YG Entertainment, the group’s record label, in a statement.

With the album launch, Blackpink dropped the sci-fi-inspired music video for “Go,” which has already garnered 32 million views, with all four members credited as lyricists. It follows their historic run on YouTube, when they reached 100 million subscribers on February 20, 2026.

With their latest mini-album continuing the momentum from the Deadline tour, fans are looking forward to promotional activities, including a collaboration with the National Museum of Korea that will run until March 8. The museum will be illuminated in pink and feature a listening zone where visitors can hear the group’s new song.
