For the eighth iteration of Vogue Talks, The Business of Fashion founder and editor-in-chief Imran Amed comes to the Philippines this July 9, 2024.
In an ongoing series of talks for emerging Filipino creatives, Vogue Talks returns for its eighth iteration on July 9 at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater. Previous iterations included enriching discussions with esteemed creatives and thinkers, including Marian Pastor Roces, Marlon Rivera, Sharif Hamza, Melissa Levy, John Paul-Pietrus, Suzette Ayson, and Carlo Chen-Delantar. This time around, Vogue Philippines invited The Business of Fashion’s Imran Amed to discuss the past, present, and future of the business of fashion.
Imran Amed stands as one of fashion’s most influential voices, steering the industry’s conversation as the founder, CEO, and editor-in-chief of The Business of Fashion (BoF). Amed’s venture into fashion began in a mundane place: his sofa in London in 2007. A management consultant by trade, he turned his fascination with fashion into a compelling blog. Today, BoF’s influence spans continents with teams in London, New York, Paris, and Shanghai, with initiatives such as the BoF Professional, BoF Careers, and the VOICES conference.
Amed’s writing sparked a new kind of fashion dialogue, earning him several accolades. He was the youngest recipient of the Desautels Management Award at McGill University in 2014. The following year, he was appointed Honorary Professor of Fashion Business at Glasglow Caledonian University. A decade after founding BoF, Queen Elizabeth II appointed him as Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his contributions to fashion.
Together with Vogue Philippines’ editor-in-chief Bea Valdes and fashion director Pam Quinones, Imran Amed will reflect on the market forces and consumer trends shaping the future of the global fashion industry, providing an analysis of the global fashion industry and career advice.
