The BLACKPINK star performed at a fashion event in Japan, singing her rendition of a Roberta Flack classic and performing an unreleased single.
Jennie Kim showed audiences that she isn’t just a powerhouse performer when she’s doing high-energy numbers. She also stands out when she’s doing more intimate sets, and she does it with style.
At the repeat of the Chanel 2022/2023 Métiers d’Art Dakar Show in Tokyo, Japan, the BLACKPINK star and Chanel global brand ambassador performed a sultry rendition of the Roberta Flack 70s hit “Killing Me Softly With His Song.” This selection suited the theme of the Métiers d’Art show, which paid tribute to 70s fashion. The song was mashed up with Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me To The Moon,” which showcased the singer’s jazzy vocal tones. Jennie finally introduced her unreleased single, “You And Me,” a song she frequently performs at the BLACKPINK shows.
For her performance, she embodied the homage to the 1920s Parisian style of the brand’s Fall/Winter 2023/24 collection. She wore the black and white box dress with the camellia motif straight off the runway, with a white camellia hair clip and pin curls. She completed this look with sparkly black socks and a pair of black babydoll heels.
After the show, Jennie was spotted wearing the oversized black coat with camellia button details, white lace stockings with the camellia detail, and the boots that were also taken straight off the brand’s Fall/Winter 2023/24 runway. She accessorized the look with a black and pearl camellia choker, black gloves with embossed camellia flower detail, and a crocheted headdress.
