Activities and Participating Galleries

With over 40 participating galleries bringing their A-game all over the Ayala Triangle, it might be worth finding some help in going around. Art Fair Philippines has guided tours every 11:00 PM – 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM on all days of the event. Participating artists include multidisciplinary artist Chia Amisola, who will present the exhibition “Kakakompyuter mo Yan,” and Isaiah Cacnio, who will mount his first solo exhibition “The Language of Infinity.”

The Art Fair PH/Projects space at Art Fair Philippines is designed by collaborators Rita Nazareno and Gabriel Lichauco of Nazareno/Lichauco, inspired by “temples of worship.” Featured exhibitions include expressionist painter Manny Garibay’s “Dambana: A Critical Reflection on Belief, Power, and Memory,” and multi-disciplinary image maker Manuel Ocampo’s “Ideological Mash-Up/Remix.” Sensory explorateur Goldie Poblador examines the dark side of femininity in “The Rise of Medusa,” ceramicist Jezzel Wee presents a collection of ceramic dolls that create sounds in “Pagbulong,” while sculptor Ryan Rubio displays his rock sculptures in an exhibition entitled “The pain passes… the beauty remains.”

Artists and other art industry professionals will also hold talks throughout the fair, including a roundtable on the multidisciplinary project “Markets of Resistance,” to be given by Kawayan de Guia, Rocky Cajigan, and Francisco Benitez. Featured artists Manny Garibay, Manuel Ocampo, Goldie Poblador, Jezzel Wee, and Ryan Rubio will also hold discussions at the fair.

Two films will also be screened at the 8th floor of The Executive Centre at the Ayala Triangle Tower 2. “Kono Basho,” directed by Jaime Pacena II, deals with historical trauma and living in the Filipino Diaspora, while “The Fat Boys: Each One Teach One” is part of a docu-series by director Drew Milo which follows a series of eccentric characters and their adventures in the Philippines.

Public Art Viewing

If you pass by the Ayala Triangle within the past few days, you might have seen tents and art installations being set up around the area. Let’s do a treasure hunt: from February 14 to February 23, various public art are free to be viewed, such as one by anonymous urban artist SpY at the Ayala Triangle Garden. Look up and find ribbons of red and white (you’ll know when you see it.)

Photographer Neil Oshima, in collaboration with FotoMoto PH, installs a camera obscura in the Sunken Park in Greenbelt 3, with the photography organization also installing art in the Legazpi Underpass. Artist Olivia d’Aboville’s sculptural light installation “Dandelions” will be on view at Circuit Lane, while Filipino-American sculptor Jefrë, who is responsible for the massive sculpture of “The Victor” along Pasig, will be exhibiting a series called “Talking Heads” at the Upper Ground Floor of the Ayala Malls Circuit.

The Big Concerns: Parking, Pets, and More

At every Art Fair, the perennial concern is, “Where do I park?” As the events are expecting an influx of attendees, it would be helpful to prepare arrangements for parking. Art Fair recommends the following parking spots:

  • The Link Carpark
  • Paseo Center Parking
  • Valero Carpark 2
  • 6750 Building Parking
  • Gabriela Silang Parking
  • Greenbelt 5 Parking
  • Glorietta 3 Basement Parking
  • Rustan’s Steel Parking

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed at Art Fair Philippines. Take all the pictures you need to show your furry friends when you return home after a day of art viewing. Additionally, there is no dress code for the event, but we recommend you dress comfortably to enjoy the whole experience.

Art Fair Philippines 2025 will run from February 21 to 23, 2025 at the Ayala Triangle in Makati City. For more information, visit artfairphilippines.com.
