At RCBC Plaza in Makati, students, professionals, celebrities, and industry leaders attended Vogue Threads Manila 2025.

The weather has been overcast all week but not even the rain could keep guests from filing into the RCBC Plaza for Vogue Threads Manila 2025. From September 21 to 27, the seven-day event welcomed students, content creators, creatives, and industry leaders to celebrate the power of visual storytelling. As with last year’s edition of Vogue Threads, it is an avenue where Vogue Philippines aims to showcase Filipino culture, spark new conversations, discover new talents, and create opportunities for emerging Filipino creatives.

At the special preview held on September 20, familiar faces found their way into the photo exhibition. Among the early birds was Jon Santos, who saw his own photo, shot by Mark Nicdao for the June 2025 Issue, in the exhibition. Jo Berry, featured in the March 2025 issue, was also pleasantly surprised by the inclusion of her photo. “Oh my gosh, I just can’t believe that I’m actually part of it. It’s really meaningful for me, and I hope my papa is proud,” she says. “I’m actually looking forward to more opportunities like this for not just me, but for other people with differently abled bodies as well.”

Aside from previously featured personalities, emerging talents spent the week learning from established professionals. Among them was fashion designer and makeup artist Buen Marella, who eagerly attended the masterclasses. “This is an event that I can’t miss because I love learning about stuff,” she says. “Especially in this industry, in the fashion industry, in the art industry. Learning is something that, you know, is never-ending because it’s always evolving.”

On the other hand, long-time photographer Ricky Villabona took the opportunity to reunite with his decades-long colleagues. “I came just to hear them again,” he says, referring to the Propaganda fashion and beauty collective, which did a masterclass on the second day. “It’s also like reliving my 90s.”

“We didn’t have this scene back then. Back then, there were only a few photographers, stylists, and makeup artists; the community was not that big,” he recalls. “As somebody much older than the people at Vogue Threads, I’m making sure that I show up because I’m learning from it myself, seeing all these perspectives.”
