Moeka Hoshi Embraced Sporty Style For Her First Paris Fashion Week

Despite being a breakout star on FX’s Shōgun, and a rising red carpet darling, actor Moeka Hoshi has never attended Paris Fashion Week—until now. She marked her very first time in the City of Light, to attend the new fall 2025 Louis Vuitton show by designer Nicolas Ghesquière. “It was my first show, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and production inside the venue,” says Hoshi. “This is my first time in Paris, and I’ve already fallen in love with this beautiful city. I could feel its historical significance everywhere I went.”

Taking in the new Vuitton collection was certainly a strong way to mark her first PFW, given it’s one of the biggest and buzziest presentations of the week. Inside the venue, Hoshi admired Ghesquière’s designs that balanced the tough with the sweet. “I loved the look with the black dress featuring a red floral pattern paired with pink boots—it had kind of a dreamy feel to it,” says Hoshi. “The pink boots especially caught my eye. Also, there were a few outfits styled with ties, which left a strong impression on me.”

While she gravitated towards looks that were dressy, the star experimented with more casual pieces for her own front-row outfit. (Part of the fun of attending PFW, after all, is making a fashion statement as a VIP guest.) Instead of wearing a glamorous dress or one of Vuitton’s signature leather jackets, Hoshi took a sportier route. “My look had a sporty feel to it, which is completely different from the dresses I’ve worn at the Critics Choice and SAG Awards,” says Hoshi.

Still, her zip-up jacket and tweed-style trousers were super elevated, along with her padded heels and monogrammed bag. “After actually wearing the pieces, I realized even more how refined the details are: It’s not just casual,” says the star. “There are so many elements incorporated into the design, so I hope this look was able to express that kind of multifaceted charm.” Call it a spring renewal, but the star adds that she has been more willing to take risks and try something different with her wardrobe lately. “I love all kinds of fashion styles,” she says. “Since cutting my hair short, I feel like it’s become easier to balance different styles, which has made fashion even more fun for me.”

As for what Hoshi was able to see in the City of Light once the show wrapped? The actor did a little sightseeing, of course. “I went to see the Eiffel Tower and did some shopping around town, making sure to check out brands that don’t have stores in Japan,” says Hoshi. Her highlight, however, was paying a visit to the Impressionist and post-Impressionist paintings at the Musée de l’Orangerie. “I felt as if I was able to connect with Claude Monet’s work on a more spiritual level,” Hoshi says.

But now, it’s back to set for Hoshi, who is currently preparing for season two of Shōgun and brand new role, too. “I’m currently in the preparation period for a Japanese movie,” she says. “Before filming starts, I’ll spend my time memorizing lines, watching movies that might be useful as references, and thinking about my character.”
