At the Thomson Hotel’s rooftop bar in the heart of Hollywood, Vogue Philippines held an intimate party to celebrate its February cover of Gabriella “Gabi” Wilson, aka H.E.R.
According to the Academy and Grammy award winner, this moment was monumental in highlighting both her Black and Filipino heritage. She arrived in an amped-up glamour feathered dress with a jeweled neckline.
The singer spoke about how special it was to her to connect with her matriarchal family in the Philippines and shoot the cover in her mom’s hometown in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.
The celebration happened just a day away from the 65th annual Grammy’s, where the musician is up for four nominations in various categories, including top awards like “Album of the Year” and “Record of the Year” for her work on music legend Mary J. Blige’s album Good Morning Gorgeous.
DJ Siobhan Bell’s tunes welcomed Wilson’s star-studded and stylish guest list.

Siblings Willow and Jaden Smith entered wearing graphic prints, giving the grunge revival trend a rock and roll edge; Willow rocked a Kiss band t-shirt and Jaden had a jacket printed with academic illustrations colored to the tones of a cold thermal palette. Filipino actress and model Yassi Pressman stunned in a powder blue satin jumpsuit and terno sleeves, a proud, modern take on the heritage garment of the Philippines.
