Today in Paris, designer Matthieu Blazy debuted his fall 2026 ready-to-wear collection for Chanel, filled with exciting new takes on the French label’s signature tweeds and skirt suits. Better yet, the show saw the palatial Grand Palais setting transformed into a chic construction zone, outfitted with giant colorful cranes. (The show was to celebrate “works in progress,” hence the thematic set.) When it’s a Chanel show, after all, the space is always theatrical and larger-than-life—just like when Blazy transformed an abandoned New York City subway station into his pre-fall venue.
Blazy’s front row for the presentation today, meanwhile, was its very own spectacle to behold. Stars such as Margot Robbie (who unveiled a new bob!), Jennie, Teyana Taylor, Oprah, Kylie Minogue, Gemini, Olivia Dean, and more all showed up in support of the grand event—decked out in their finest Chanel attire, of course.

While models like Paloma Elsesser leaned into the classic uptown Chanel skirt suit, other attendees went more unexpected routes—like Robbie in her sheer tank and gauzy trouser from the spring 2026 couture collection, or Lily Rose-Depp in her full-on animal print Metiers d’art ensemble. Jennie even wore a fully-transparent netted skirt suit: The perfect mix of Old Chanel meets New Chanel.
Given the starry guest list, then, Vogue simply had to document more of the front-row action, so we enlisted photographer German Larkin to document these notable names in their VIP seats. Below, scroll on as Larkin caught all of the candid moments between stars. (Come for the Teyana-Margot embrace, stay for the Oprah-Kylie meet-cute.) Plus, we asked them to weigh in on the inspiration behind their outfits, as well as their favorite looks from the show—and what their favorite French words are.

What inspired your show look today?
“I’m just wearing a casual tank, jeans, and jacket—it’s no big deal, it’s just a couture version! The jacket is made of this really light, beautiful chiffon. It’s from Mathieu’s last collection, his first couture collection.”
What did you think of the show?
“I loved the belted drop-waist skirts with the big blazers. Anything with the iridescent fabric was so fun. The bags were insane—there were, like, a thousand bags that I would want. The shoes and sassy little glasses were great. The music is always great at his shows, too. Gaga came on, and all the girlies started bobbing. Everyone was like, ‘Okay, we’re ready to party.’”

“I have been trying to learn French for years.”
What’s your favorite French word?

Teyana Taylor
What inspired your show look today?
“I knew it would rain today. So I said, let’s take on the rain—in Chanel. This was one of my favorite looks when I was at the [pre-fall] show that took place in New York. I’m a New York girl, so that was really exciting. I have an unhealthy obsession with rain coats. And my favorite color is red. So to see this rain coat, with the red stones—and bone and white is my favorite combo. To have this moment popping through the rain coat, is everything. And guess what? When I got out of the car, it started raining. The weather understood the assignment. I looked up and said, ‘Merci.’”

What did you think of the show?
“I don’t know where to start—there were so many good looks! A lot of it was wearable, wantable, and desirable.”
What inspired your show look today?
“I’m wearing an embellished silk-knit camisole and skirt. I felt very liberated.”
What’s your favorite French word?
“To be very French, you can say, ‘Non!’ Recently, I’ve been using ”Laisse tomber,” as in, “let’s move on.”

Lily-Rose Depp
What did you think of the show?
“That was fabulous. I’m obsessed with this collection. Every single piece that walked down the runway was incredible. And what a fabulous closing song. I was like, ‘No way they’re playing this [Lady Gaga] song right now.’ It really speaks to Mathieu’s sense of fun, joy, and levity that you feel in the collection.”
What inspired your show look today?
“Me and my best friend, my stylist Spencer Singer, have been obsessed with this look ever since we saw it on the runway in New York. I feel very lucky to be the girl that gets to wear it tonight, and to be Matthieu’s kitty cat in Chanel.”
The show was themed around celebrating works-in-progress. What’s something you’re currently working on?
“I’m trying to meditate more. It’s proving hard to get into a routine with, but I really want to be someone who meditates. I think it does my spirit good.”
What’s your favorite French word?
“’Bordel,’ which means a mess. But you can use it in many different ways. You can also be like, “T’est bordel,’ as in, ‘you look so amazing.’”

Oprah Winfrey
What inspired your show look today?
“We’re feeling very good about ourselves in Paris, wearing Chanel. This look is classic Chanel but modernized. It can take you anywhere: You can go to dinner, or you can go to any event and feel like you’re well-dressed. I love simplicity, and I’m always a neutral girl. I wore a hint of red.”
The show was themed around celebrating works-in-progress. What’s something you’re currently working on?
“I’m in the process of creating a show that I’m hoping will raise and elevate consciousness, in a way that allows people to see the best of themselves, and see their connection to the rest of the world. More to come on that.”
What looks did you have your eye on in the show?
“There’s a drop-waisted piece, in black and white, that has a little pleated skirt. It had my name on it. And the shearling coat—I can either have a car or that coat! I loved many of the pieces, but I’m not that fancy, so I don’t have anywhere to wear them. It felt like a meditation in quiet luxury. What I love about [Mathieu] is he’s able to be so artisanal, and yet things are so well-constructed and beautiful. And also comfortable!”
