The Maison takes its laissez-faire spirit to the Long Museum in Shanghai for its Women’s Voyager Show, centered on whimsy and play.
Louis Vuitton’s relationship with a sense of place is almost as strong as its commitment to fine craftsmanship and heritage technique. Last year’s pre-fall show on the Jamsugyo Bridge in Seoul was staged by Squid Game director Hwang Dong-Hyuk, whose fluorescent lights guided along Nicolas Ghesquière‘s vision of a fast-track to the future.
In Shanghai, the fashion house takes to the city’s Long Museum West Bund to unveil their 2024 pre-fall collection, teasing snippets of starry-eyed, blown-up balloon animals floating along between skyscrapers. For the first runway to take place after Ghesquière’s simultaneously sentimental and optimistic 10th-anniversary show, expect a certain amount of whimsy and play and a hint of the unexpected.
