As Paris Fashion Week unfolds, there are many things that R’Bonney Gabriel is looking forward to. In a brief conversation with Vogue Philippines, she shares what she’s looking forward to the most.

The Miss Universe 2022 titleholder and designer R’Bonney Gabriel has certainly been keeping herself busy in the Philippines. In Divisoria, she went fabric shopping and created a dress. In Taguig, she presented a Texas and Philippine-inspired holiday collection at Bench Fashion Week. But this September, she flocks to the streets of Paris, where she will continue to dive deep into Filipino culture and fashion.

With Paris Fashion Week and Vogue Threads taking place in the same week, there are plenty of things that leave fashion enthusiasts waiting with anticipation. Below, R’Bonney Gabriel shares with Vogue Philippines what she’s most excited to see this season in Paris.

What are you looking forward to seeing in Paris, especially as it’s Fashion Week?

R’BONNEY GABRIEL: I am only in Paris for a few days, but I am mostly looking forward to seeing the Zomer show and attending the Vogue Threads event. I’m also excited to see Parisian fashion throughout the city because I love the timeless and classic style and enjoy seeing how people express themselves through design.

What are you most excited about at Vogue Threads?

I honestly don’t know much about it at all. [Laughs] However, judging by the location [where] it will be held, I think it will be a beautiful evening appreciating fashion history while celebrating Filipinos who are leaving their mark in fashion as well.

How does it feel to be celebrating Filipino fashion on a global scale?

I’m most excited about supporting Filipino fashion design and connecting with more people in our industry. Filipinos are talented, hard-working, and unique, and I’m honored to be a part of the joint effort to push the community forward on the global scene.
