At London Fashion Week, designers showed skin with strategically-placed cut-outs.

With many already beginning to bundle up this Fall, there’s definitely something to look forward to next summer—at least according to London Fashion Week. Several designers, including Jawara Alleyne, Standing Ground, and Karoline Vitto, are already getting the fashion crowd excited to bare skin in new places with a range of slips, dresses, and ensembles that feature unconventional cut-outs.

At Jawara Alleyne, slivers of skin peek through edgy sheer paneled tops, held together by pins that accentuate different areas of the arms, torso, and back. Vibrant dresses from the show also feature other strategic head-to-toe cutouts. One strappy marigold number, in particular, features several asymmetrical cut-outs from the shoulders to the back of the thighs, making it a conversation piece—front and back.

At Standing Ground, the baring of skin may be more subdued but it’s equally impactful. With the cut-outs relegated to the midriff area, Standing Ground’s draped maxi dresses in warm hues feature asymmetrical cutouts framed by sculptural touches including thick, voluminous twists. A charming way to celebrate the body and its form.

Meanwhile, Karoline Vitto came in with more daring numbers. Skintight pieces that wrap around the body feature a constellation of curved peek-a-boo areas—some of them even accentuated by shiny sculpted hardware.

See how these designers interpreted the bold new cut-out trend below.
