Josh O’Connor joins Dior as a global ambassador, deepening his creative partnership with designer Jonathan Anderson.
Josh O’Connor has just been promoted from Jonathan Anderson’s longtime muse to a defining face of Dior as he joins the house as their newest ambassador, marking the latest chapter in their nearly decade-long creative partnership.
The British actor, who gained global recognition for his award-winning performance as Prince Charles in The Crown, has long been considered Anderson’s muse; the start of their collaboration dates back to 2017, when Anderson, then the creative director at Loewe, tapped him as his first menswear ambassador. And in Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers, which starred Zendaya caught between him and Mike Faist, O’Connor wore a wardrobe designed by Anderson, consisting of slogan T-shirts, smart polos, and cheeky athleisure.
Since then, O’Connor has consistently worn Jonathan Anderson’s Dior throughout last year, first at the New York premiere of The History of Sound, wearing a look from Anderson’s debut collection. The vintage-inspired Dior tuxedo featured a closed white shirt collar, extra-long cuffs, and wide-legged trousers.
He later kept up his Dior streak at the Toronto International Film Festival 2025 premiere of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, wearing a ready-to-wear piece from the same collection. And again at the 2025 Governors Awards, O’Connor wore a custom Dior suit, which featured a white silk shirt with an integrated bow tie, finished off with black-and-white leather CD loafers.
Most recently, he brought a more relaxed yet polished look to Late Night with Seth Meyers: a dark blazer, pale yellow shirt, a striped tie, and gray pleated trousers, leaning into smarter aesthetic codes between promotions for his latest film Wake Up Dead Man, which stars him as a priest.
“Josh O’Connor embodies a singular, sensitive, and undeniably modern expression of masculine elegance, perfectly in sync with the contemporary Dior style,” the brand said in a statement today. O’Connor joins Anderson’s growing circle of trusted collaborators at the house, which includes actors Mikey Madison, Greta Lee, Mia Goth, and LaKeith Stanfield.
Being Jonathan Anderson’s muse was only the beginning. As ambassador, O’Connor is set to shape the house’s contemporary menswear story, carrying forward a long-running creative collaboration.
