Dua Lipa doesn’t just have diamonds under her eyes at tonight’s Golden Globes. The singer, who is nominated for Original Song for “Dance the Night” from the Barbie movie, walked the red carpet in a custom Schiaparelli dress with truly sensational jewels to match.
The first-time nominee reached into the Tiffany & Co. vault for the awards show, picking out a wreath-like archival necklace from 1962. The piece is inlaid with oval- and pear-cut yellow beryl, topaz quartz, and round-cut diamonds set in in gold and platinum, with two large briolette-cut stones hanging off the end. She added a ring, also from Tiffany’s—a large yellow sapphire surrounded by a halo of diamonds.
The ornate gems only added to Lipa’s Old Hollywood glamour. The singer wore a custom black velvet and silk mermaid dress—a nod to her Barbie character perhaps?—with a bustier top and lace-up back by Daniel Roseberry. The gold and diamond bone motif embroidered on the dress brought out the warm tones of the necklace and the ring. Lipa, who was styled by Lorenzo Posocco, completed her look with Jimmy Choo shoes.
Dua Lipa is the first celebrity to take the necklace for a spin since it was acquired by Tiffany & Co, however, an identical necklace was sold at auction in June of 2023 for $189,000—far over Christie’s estimate of $40,000-60,000.
