The Best Red Carpet Looks From The Vogue Philippines Party

On August 28th, Vogue Philippines threw a bash. Guests were asked to show up in stylish outfits with a fun challenge, their take on the theme “Rewear.” At the reused clothing-inspired soirée, models, designers, Condé Nast and Vogue editors, and Manila’s creatives took the theme to heart. Some attendees came in vintage finds, while others repurposed older clothes or discarded materials and took to their sewing machines. While all the attendees were dashing, seven event-goers in particular stole the show with their takes on the sustainable assignment and contributed to circular fashion all the way to our best-dressed list.

Filipino-Australian actor Jasmine Curtis-Smith went the route of digging through the archives when she showed up to the party in vintage Alexander McQueen—a dress from his infamous 2003 Shipwreck collection. Several attendees looked to Filipino talent for their ensembles. Pamela Prinster was dressed in a black Ushi Sato dress, while Gabbi Garcia wore an archival Celine dress that was reworked by Filipino designer Neric Beltran.

Actor Kyline Alcantara donned a reworked version of a Maje dress she previously wore to an awards night, while her dashing plus-one, actor Maverick Legaspi, wore a polo by Paul Cabral used during his parents’ wedding. He even paired it with a surprising item of clothing: a jacket used by Alcantara. Legaspi said that he wanted to highlight the idea of interchanging male and female pieces and looked to his rumored girlfriend’s closet to achieve that.

Of course, a couple of fashion designers also made it to the best-dressed list. Le Ngok wore her own design—a vest made from discarded cellphone chips derived from her collection “Cyber Gaze” that focused on recycled materials. A nod to maximalism, Ha.Mu’s ensemble required digging through his former school projects. He paired a jacket he made in college with a top, kimono, and pants. Ha.Mu says, “Since the theme is rewear, I’m bringing out pieces that bring joy to me.” Below, the photos of the Vogue Philippines Party’s best dressed.
