Continuously-driven by “purpose over profit,” Archie Carrasco takes on a new role as Vogue Philippines publisher.
Archie Carrasco, CEO of AGC Power Holdings Corp., has taken on the role of publisher of Vogue Philippines, which he launched in 2022. Carrasco’s leadership extends across his company’s diverse media portfolio, which includes titles like MEGA, Lifestyle Asia, and Billboard Philippines, as well as international titles such as VMan Southeast Asia and Rolling Stone Philippines.
Carrasco has been an ardent advocate for connecting Philippine culture with a global audience. “My goal has always been to reignite the Philippine media landscape and build a platform that bridges the Philippines with the world,” he shares.
Known for his forward-thinking approach, Carrasco has guided his group of companies through challenging periods, including the pandemic, by focusing on adaptability and innovation. His philosophy, emphasizing “purpose over profit,” has played a key role in expanding AGC Power Holdings’ reach while spotlighting Filipino creativity on the global stage. His leadership of Vogue Philippines has centered on blending international fashion standards with local culture, making the magazine both globally relevant and distinctly Filipino.
“Purpose-driven companies attract the best talent and foster customer loyalty,” he explained during the FIPP World Media Congress in Cascais, Portugal where he was invited to speak last June. “They form emotional bonds with audiences, carve out distinct spaces in crowded markets, and remain resilient in times of crisis because they are anchored by a clear sense of purpose.”
In his new role, Carrasco will continue to oversee the magazine’s editorial strategy, aiming to balance commercial success with cultural impact. His work reflects a commitment to fostering local talent and evolving the media industry in Southeast Asia, ensuring Vogue Philippines remains a significant platform for Filipino voices in fashion and beyond.
