Ariana Grande’s style often has a retro feel, from the ’50s A-line dresses she wore in the early days of her career to the ’60s miniskirts she still wears today. It’s no surprise that the pop star has a series of stand-out vintage pieces in her collection.
Case in point? The rare Thierry Mugler corset, dating back to 1985, that she wore for a recent R.E.M. Beauty campaign. Other highlights include the Gianni Versace puffer coat from the designer’s famous autumn/winter 1992 Miss S&M collection, which she wore to the slopes back in 2017, and the colour-block dress from Versace’s spring/ summer 2003 collection (seen on Jennifer Garner in 13 Going On 30) which she wore on The Voice in 2021.
Grande’s long-time stylist Mimi Cuttrell is a big fan of vintage, so it makes sense that the singer is often seen in archival looks. “It’s a combination of recycling and standing out,” Cuttrell previously told WWD of the appeal of selecting vintage pieces for A-listers.
