At Rabanne, the short bob was slicked back, while Stella McCartney blow-dried models’ bobs to voluminous perfection.

Structural and sleek, the short bob can be worn on pin-straight, curly, wavy and coily hair and is characterised by its lack of length. Where a midi bob grazes the shoulders and collar bones, a short bob just tickles the earlobes or skin beneath. They can be kicked up at the ends, tucked under, bumped with a curling iron or round brush, or tapered and tousled.
