The Vogue Philippines Party revealed the brand’s social media accounts and marked the start of a two-day launch.
Seemingly everyone was at Xylo on August 28 for theVogue Philippines party, held in honor of the launch of the title in the country. As the evening wore in, celebrities and the who’s who of Manila’s fashion crowd made their way to the BGC venue at The Palace, dressed in their best renditions and interpretations of the theme, “Rewear.” Stylish attendees included actors Jasmine Curtis-Smith, who went into the fashion vault with a nude 2003-era Alexander McQueen, and Kyline Alcantara, who stepped out with boyfriend Mavy Legaspi in a dress she previously wore but had altered for the evening.
Also among those who attended were local designers Rajo Laurel, Inno Sotto, Ha.Mu, and Jude Macasinag. Likewise, beauty queens Kylie Versoza and Rabiya Mateo, photographers BJ Pascual and Dookie Ducay, and social media mavens Bea Marin and The Enciso Sisters made appearances, among others. Chauffeured to the event by Lexus were the delegates of Condé Nast International; Chalotte Bamsey, Alison Pascual, Alaina Vieru, and Ken Paves. Meanwhile, Condé Nast International heads Amy Mangino, Jason Miles and Markus Grindel were driven by Volvo, alongside Desiree and Simon Au from Vogue Hong Kong and model Chloe Magno. As the guests took their seats, they were treated to Thinne Almeda Scent Diffusers on the tables during the party.
As midnight approached, television personality Joey Mead-King made her entrance in a Rajo Laurel archival set to introduce Philippa Morgan, Condé Nast Global Director of Content Management & Editorial Director, Licensing. She addressed the audience on video, declaring that “the Vogue family now has its pearl.”
Vogue Philippines editor-in-chief, Bea Valdes, wearing a white Marques’ Almeida dress, took to the stage next. In her short speech, she thanked the Filipino fashion community for their support, saying: “Through our pages, we hope to showcase the Philippine fashion identity, and connect us with the global community.” She was followed by Condé Nast Director of Media Licensing, Amy Mangino, who expressed her gratitude and blessings to the Vogue Philippines team.
Mead-King returned to the stage to lead the midnight countdown, which ended in a shower of confetti and the official launch of Vogue Philippines social media accounts, showing a sneak peek of what was to come. After the program ended, guests continued to celebrate by turning the center stage into a dance floor and the platforms into a runway.
