What It Means to Have An Uninterrupted Getaway in Siargao

ZYN taps into the tropical cadence of Siargao for the launch of its latest flavor variation

Above the noise of crashing waves and fauna’s morning serenades, harmonies of kitchen clamor, muffled speakers, and locals loading surfboards on tuk-tuks pulse along the wooden cottages and concrete homes in Siargao.

It’s a familiar cadence for Vogue Philippines culture writer Gab Yap, though he knew his stay was set to be a lot livelier than that. In a conversation with the Vogue team, he reflects on his three-day getaway for ZYN’s “Summer Uninterrupted” event, where he experienced the local cuisine, culture, and sounds the island had to offer.

“Siargao is an island that seems to contain many lives within it. From the moment we arrived, we were given a glimpse into the many rhythms that define it, from its surf culture and culinary scene to its landscapes and the communities that call it home,” Yap shares.

For ZYN, the island served as the final leg of its Summer 2026 campaign, culminating in the release of its Tropical flavor variant, which, according to Yap, felt closely tied to the surfing capital itself. “Much like Siargao, the flavor profile leans bright, vibrant, and distinctly evocative of warmer climates and island living.”

From a unique degustation at Roots, which explored familiar flavors through the island’s local ingredients, to immersive experiences across Corregidor Island and the mangrove forest that highlighted Siargao’s craftswork and dense ecosystem, the trip then capped off in an evening’s celebration at Siargao Beach Club, with music led by international DJ Jimmy Nocon, alongside contemporaries Malika Rai and Sam Haira. “More than anything, what stood out was the opportunity to experience the different dimensions of Siargao within a single weekend,” Yap adds.

By the end of the event, Yap reflected on how nicotine alternatives such as ZYN are able to give adult users new means to not only explore the different facets of Philippine culture, but also to live in their passions without missing the moments that matter most.

“The conversation around nicotine today looks very different from what it did even a decade ago,” he shares. “People are increasingly looking for alternatives that better fit their lifestyles, routines, and personal goals, and products like ZYN represent a larger shift toward personalization and informed decision-making that reflect their own needs and circumstances.”
