At the Sony Exclusive Launch, creatives and lifestyle leaders share what music means to them as the brand unveils its new 1000X The Collexion.

Music has always been closely tied to a person’s well-being, at least for people like Mika Lagdameo and Rajo Laurel. For Lagdameo, therapy can be as simple as listening to jazz after a long day at work or starting the morning with upbeat music. For Laurel, music is a source of inspiration that keeps his creative juices flowing. So when they stepped into the Sony Exclusive Launch event, they were all smiles as they were welcomed by the very art form they had just been talking about.

This month, Sony launched its new 1000X The Collexion, built on the idea that sound is shaped by craftsmanship and intentional design. The philosophy resonates with lifestyle leaders such as Lagdameo, Laurel, Daryl Chang and Archie Carrasco, whose lives are influenced by the fashion and business industry.

In an interview with Vogue Philippines, Blanche Uy, Assistant Product Marketing Manager of Sony, says that a great listening experience goes beyond sound quality alone. As music has become part of people’s everyday routines, whether while commuting, exercising, or working from home, factors such as noise cancelling, design, and comfort have become just as important. “We create new products to fit into the daily lives of people. If technology can help improve your daily life, then even better because it uplifts your daily routine,” she says.

The new Sony 1000X The Collexion combines premium lightweight materials such as metal and leather. Alongside its updated design, the lineup includes a bespoke driver unit, Edge-AI powered DSEE Ultimate, enhanced 360 Reality Audio Upmix, and Sony’s noise cancelling technology. Users can also control functions like volume without taking out their phones, a feature that, for Uy, seamlessly integrates into a music lover’s daily routine.

“Music is essential to me primarily because I need music to work. In fact, the first thing I do when I enter my studio is put on music. So I think it’s part of my creative process that I have to have that background sound in order for me to pull some creativity from somewhere. And music usually does the trick,” says fashion designer Laurel.

The event ultimately became less about introducing a new pair of headphones and more about the many ways people weave music into their everyday lives.
