This month’s cover story takes Pom Klementieff from the studio to the sky, capturing her in gravity-defying elegance.
For the May issue of Vogue Philippines, French actress Pom Klementieff didn’t just model clothes; she launched herself out of planes, dove into clouds, and emerged as a filmic embodiment of grace under pressure.
As enlightened by fashion director Pam Quinones, the shoot was inspired by Pom’s “extraordinary skill set,” and her fearless approach to life, translating into a high-charged editorial: a kinetic exploration of human potential, captured mid-air and in the studio. “She pushes the boundaries of what we traditionally think female bodies can do,” Pam explains, “and we wanted to visually put that front and center.”
Emerged from Pom’s passions, including, but not limited to, martial arts, motorcycling, racing, snowboarding, horseback riding, and, most notably, skydiving. Although the original plan was to incorporate all these extreme pursuits into a single shoot, the team ultimately chose to “zero in on two practices” and shot in different locations due to their nature.

The skydiving series was photographed by master skydiver, photographer, and Hollywood stuntman Craig O’Brien. Known for his work on films such as Charlie’s Angels, Iron Man, and the Mission: Impossible franchise, he shot Pom over the sunlit skies of Perris in California. Safety was paramount, and Pom wore her custom parachute rig, a wrap-up gift she was given by Tom Cruise and designed with artwork by James Jean.
“It’s poetic to see Earth from above and just be floating, having this sense of weightlessness,” Pom said in the cover story interview. “It’s very special and beautiful.”
Her jumps were a waltz in the sky, particularly her “tracking” technique, in which she cut through the air like a comet; arms swept back, body arrow-straight, guiding herself with total control. Each descent represented her testament to focus and physical discipline, with joy written on her face.
The studio shoot aimed to showcase another side of Pom: a disciplined fighter, an aerodynamic force of nature, and a fashion chameleon wearing designers such as Maison Martin Margiela, Prada, Armani Prive, Rick Owens, and Alexander McQueen on the red carpet.

“Pom has such a vibrant personality; she’s bold, fearless, and I wanted the fashion to reflect that,” said British-born stylist Danyl Brown, whose clients include Amelia Gray, Lucien Leon Laviscount, and Paris Jackson. Captured by photographers Giel Domen and Kenneth Van De Velde, the images contrast high-gloss fashion with the raw intensity of combat sports and track racing.
Each look was designed to echo Pom’s innate dominance, fusing extreme sport elements with couture silhouettes and technical fabrics. Think cinched waists with flight-ready harnesses, leather and lace, and vibrant reds that echoed emergency and rebellion. “We wanted to nail the balance between grace and pressure, Zen and chaos, man and physics,” said Pam.
The shoot was executed with structured, broad-shouldered tailoring by Saint Laurent. A resilient, alligator-embossed leather suit by Acne Studios, and a crimson red, ribbed and ruched bodice by Dilara Findikoglu, paired with a candy-striped skirt by Madomorpho. Accessories played a key role in shaping the “sporty chic” aesthetic, including mirrored Oakley sunglasses, Ferrari driving gloves, and sculptural headwear by Jean Paul Gaultier.
The story resulted in a layered cinematic narrative that captures more than just Pom Klementieff in motion—it reveals her in transformation. Whether suspended mid-air, grounded in a battle stance, or poised in designer gear, she embodies what it means to jump with purpose and land with unmistakable style.
