Jennie Ruby Kim – who together with Lisa Manobal, Jisoo Kim and Rosé Park makes up the chart-topping South Korean quartet Blackpink – became a K-pop sensation when the group first broke out in 2016. While their uplifting, genre-defying music has captivated millions globally, the members are equally adored for their distinct sense of fashion.
As a Chanel ambassador, Kim often gravitates toward the brand’s sleek, monochrome looks. For her first appearance at the Met Gala, she wore a reinterpretation of look 164 from Karl Lagerfeld’s autumn/winter 1990 Chanel collection. (As Lagerfeld’s last chosen muse before his death in 2019, Kim’s ties run deep. So much so, in fact, that her fans have nicknamed her “Human Chanel”.) But she also likes to throw her star power behind emerging designers. At her Cannes debut – where she was promoting The Idol (in which she played a backup dancer) – she opted for a strapless midi-dress from Chinese brand Shushu/Tong’s autumn/winter 2023 collection. More recently, Kim made her first turn as a model on Jacquemus’s autumn/winter 2024 runway, shortly after returning to the Met Gala in custom Alaïa.
As for her off-duty style? With oversized knitwear, baggy trousers and Ugg boots, the singer keeps things casual (and cosy). Below, see Jennie Kim’s most unforgettable fashion moments so far, both on and off the red carpet.

Jennie then arrived at the show in a turquoise knit and mint-green hot pants, accessorised with strands of pearls. (Note: the dramatic, platinum-blonde makeover.) I was inspired by the looks of style icons from the ’60s, like Edie Sedgwick and Twiggy, who led the trends of the time,” she said at the time. “I reinterpreted their signature pop, colour combinations and modern styles in a contemporary way to create my own look.”
