TUMI’s newest flagship store showcases the brand’s innovative design with a well-lit space and blending it with modern aesthetics

From the expansive terminals lined with polished floors to the carefully designed seating areas where travelers wait to board their flights, airports embody a seamless flow of people, planes, and luggage. It is in this spirit of travel that Tumi draws its inspiration for the design of its first flagship store in Manila.

In Greenbelt 5, the 123-square-meter space of the travel and lifestyle brand brings the spirit of airport travel into a retail environment called Manifest Concept Design. From the moment visitors enter through its curved arch portal, the Manila flagship store invites them to explore with ease, much like a traveler navigating a terminal. With a white and grey palette, mirrored elements and bright lighting, the space evokes the airy interiors of a modern airport.

Meanwhile, white natural marble-patterned flooring and titanium-colored magnetic walls showcase the 19 Degree luggage construction. Additional highlights in the retail space include angled entrance walls and a unique accessories tower, alongside a demonstration table. Fixtures with soft, curved edges and a premium seating area provide a comfortable shopping experience, further enhancing the inviting atmosphere.

Its aesthetics remain distinct compared to its counterparts worldwide. In Milan, wood accents, abstract chairs and cubed furnishings lean towards a natural palette. Taking cues from this is the travel and lifestyle brand’s Los Angeles flagship store with dark wooden slats that create a warm, inviting environment.

In New York, Tumi integrates the 19 Degree pattern with wood textures, mirroring the urban feel of the city. While the Tokyo store in Omotesando brings the well-known luggage aesthetics to life with sculptural panels made from aluminum.

Its launch in December saw notable guests including congressman Franz Pumaren, designer Maureen Disini, and celebrity couples like Cristalle Belo and Justin Pitt, as well as Nikki Gil and BJ Albert. The event was graced by Tumi representatives Subrata Dutta, president of Samsonite Group; Randy Wong, general manager for Southeast Asia; and Mariana Zobel de Ayala, president of Ayala Malls.

Throughout the evening, attendees had an exclusive first look at standout pieces from Tumi’s Fall 2024 and Holiday 2024 collections, featuring the women’s Voyageur collection and the Turin collection, crafted from premium Italian leather with metal details aimed at the modern man.
